Tutoring Makes a Big Difference

One of the most influential tutoring studies (Bloom) found that tutoring generated amazing outcomes, lifting average performers (those in the 50th percentile) to top-of-the-class performers, around the 95th to 98th percentile!

There is also a popular study in the American Educational Research Journal that compared findings from dozens of different studies on tutoring and found that tutored students out-performed non-tutored students in 45 out of 52 studies, a rate of nearly 90%.

The researchers wrote, “The average child in the tutored group scored at the 66th percentile of the students in the untutored or control group.” In other words, the average tutored student did better than two-thirds of the untutored students!

The Master Tutor offers a complete Study Skills Program, designed and customized for your student, to help him/her learn.

Study Skills Program

The comprehensive program includes sessions on note taking, test preparation, organization, and time management.

Although the Study Skills Program can be adaptable to any age, it was designed for students in middle school and older.

Summer Tutoring

All students experience learning losses, "brain drain," during the summer. Most

students lose about two months of grade level equivalency in math and reading skills during the summer months if they are not involved in some kind of educational activity.

Let The Master Tutor's summer learning activities be the bridge from your student's grade in the spring to their new grade in the fall. The grade level courses will bridge the gap between grades. Your student will cover reading, writing, math, language arts, science, social studies, and thinking skills. Each student will have a one-on-one personalized summer learning plan.

The Master Tutor has the same goal as

you do, to build an academic framework

Custom Learning Plans

in which your student can succeed and excel. To accomplish this, The Master Tutor designs an individualized, customized learning plan. They will set goals and develop methods to achieve these goals. This framework is necessary because each student is different and each will learn in their own way. Regular, ongoing contact with the tutor, the student, and the family keeps everyone up to date on where you are and where you are going. The Master Tutor works one-on-one with your student so they can accomplish and achieve their educational goals.
